F the poor karens that reported it. My uncle is a retired professor of Cornell. Pathetic that the anti-hunting sentiment is strong.

If this happened in a southern state it wouldn't even hit the news.

I can guarantee you a few Southern schools where this would raise a fuss. Not a huge fuss, but a fuss--big enough. Percentage-wise, there are a lot more nose rings out there in "higher education" than in the general population.

And I will say this: You'd be hard-pressed to pick out anything particularly Southern about your average 20 year-old university student below the Mason-Dixon line these days, except perhaps a casual (and correct) attitude to the passage of time from the ones born of Southern parents.

I don't care how much bro-country they listen to.

Regardless, there is a special place in hell for kids who rat out other kids.

When I was in college I hung deer in the outside stair well of student housing. The “authorities” came and told me I couldn’t hang them in the stair well because it poses as a fire risk if it blocked the stairs but I was more than welcome to hang it in the tree in the yard (of the student housing building). 😂

I went to school at West Virginia University and it was normal for kids to go home on the weekends and kill deer to feed themselves at school. In season and out of season. Not saying it was right or wrong, but it was Appalachia and the deer were available and money was not.

Sounds normal to me.

My buddies always begged me to kill deer. We were in college and didn’t have much money. Steak was a luxury back then. We would bring the deer right in and 15 of us would cut it up. Everyone would get a share that helped.

We also ate a LOT of goose meat.
