Here's a bag I whipped up with some spare 500d Cordura. Fits a 60lb bag of concrete.

You should! It's a lot of fun and really not that hard if you can have a mentor teach you the basics.

Did you just use a simple seam or did you anything special when joining the panels? I was thinking of putting together something similar to use as a load cell type thing.

I double stitched them is all. I should have and still may add some webbing for a handle. I carry it (garage to truck) by the top of bag and the seems don't seem stressed at all.

I did this same thing with some spare I had and put handles on it and actually just stole pea gravel from the kids play set... Mine is right around 65lbs and works great.
