i posted this in a general discussion, then thought maybe it would fit better here.
i have a tikka action with a long bolt stop, and a hells canyon magazine that'll allow a 3.410 coal. I was originally going to build a 3wsm, but already own 2 so lately i started to lean towards 7prc. as i never played with one much. problem is im concerned that a 7prc wouldnt be that great in a tikka action being i can only get a 3.410 coal and saami off the top of my head is 3.290. i guess i should mention that i hand load. without grabbing a caliper and just looking at a calculator seems theres only 120 thousandths of play there. a penny for your thoughts..

What are you wanting to shoot? If 180's you should be fine, as I have room to spare in my tikka 7PRC. If 195's it might be an issue.
i tend to lean to the heavy side, 180s out of 308 win, 220s out of 300wsm.

So, I assume 175 or 180 would be ok with you in the 7? If so, build away. My rifle is 7lbs all up with scope and mag unloaded. Tikkas are a great option to build on. I've still only shot factory ammo through it, but will reload eventually. Average 2815 with factory hornady match loads for the 180's with a 24" barrel. I should be able to get that closer to 3000 with hand loading, which with the 180eldm will flatten anything in NA with no issue. My gun is braked, so the recoil is very manageable as well, even at the 7lb weight.

180’s and under are all shooting fine in the 4 I’ve put together. Haven’t tried 195’s.

180gr 7prc and Tikka actions were made for each other as far as I’m concerned.
