Because you come across as extremely naive to what’s going on in the world and here in America.
I'm not blind to it - that's why I'm talking about it. The hypocrisy in our government/society/the world is disgusting.

I just didn't write a dissertation to please everyone in my simple post.

Did you know there are starving children in Africa and for just .30 cents per day, less then a cup of coffee you can feed them.
If somebody came to me and told me that I could keep Yeonmi and/or other girls from going through that, I would probably give them 100,000 times that amount today.

Maybe I'm just naive and should ignore suffering. Or maybe it's the kind of thing that really matters in life.

I'm just me saying what I say. But I damn sure am not going to worry about Joe Jon down the road and around the corner. He has a sketchy past and kinda a unreasonable dick . Until everyone in my house "AMERICA" is taken care of.

Acknowledging it would be a good start.
OK.......the world has had human rights atrocities, slavery, and many other issues since the beginning of time. Do you think that's going to change anytime in the future?

It's like the poor and the wealthy. There has always been "the poor" and "the wealthy" in the world, and some people always complaining about that. No matter what people and governments have done to try and change that........it's still with us today.......no matter how much money and benefits they throw at "the poor".

And that is not even the real news story. The real story is that the United States continues to do business with a country that is committing genocide. Imagine if we still bought goods coming from Germany while they were putting Jews in gas chambers.

I listened to the podcast and was moved by it as well but I can't think of a tangible thing I could do about it besides pray those people make it into a better situation. But as others have said if that were to happen it would be another group of people enduring a similar tragedy. The world is full of evil and will likely remain that way until humans are ridded from this planet.

I thought this was about what’s going on in Washington state.
She talks about how what is going on in our country is the same as the propaganda nonsense in NK - it's scary. She says that America is not free, it's controlled in the same way, but obviously not as extreme. She speaks out against woke colleges and what they tried to teach her. She is for the second amendment and states how it's vital for a free country and protection for tyrants. The main stream media ignores her because she doesn't fit their narrative - i.e. me being pissed about another level of censorship/ignoring what's happening in the world while contributing to it and pretending like we're so wholesome.

Joe Rogan isn't my idol and I don't agree with everything he says/does, but I learn a lot more about what's really happening in the world by listening to him and his guests instead of political agenda driven mainstream media that is constantly touting the same narrative. One thing Joe mentions is that John Cena recently apologized for calling Taiwan a country, because of pushback from China. Never realized that Hollywood was controlled by China. I forget the exact numbers Joe uses, but something like $100,000,000 out of $150,000,000 of a recently movie release came from China. We change characters in the movies we make to appease the Chinese. Didn't hear that in the news anywhere - doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but I haven't come across it.

Furthermore on the censorship topic, check out these two podcasts where some of the top doctors in the country are being ignored/silenced/threatened/censored when it comes to covid. They are offering $2,000,000 for anybody that comes out and debates them on covid, win or loose, and nobody will step forward. The one dude developed/was extremely involved in the mRNA vaccine that is being used for covid and nobody wants to hear what he has to say.

I'm not a lefty loon wanting equal rights and free handouts for everyone. But if we're going to complain about injustice, this seems to be a better topic than 90% of the nonsense I've heard about recently.

Sick of being silent and not wanting to ruffle any feathers while watching our country fall apart.

That is exactly the story I was referencing. The US and US-based retailers are trying to determine what goods are made where in China and potentially boycott those products. In response, China is using its economic muscle to browbeat manufacturers/retailers with significant presence in China into looking the other way.

I put up a thread about it in Nov. but didn’t get any traction.

Yeonmi Park, life in N. Korea.

I’m with you though.

The things they get peoples panties in a wad in this country have no idea how lucky they have it

It’s high time to be vocal and rustle feathers. If people are offended or bent out of shape, that’s when you know you’re over the target

You didn't do anything wrong. Some people just have to crap on others to make themselves feel better.

Try not to take it personally. I appreciate what you posted.

I thought this book on a North Korean's life and escape was fascinating. I read it a few years ago. Highly recommend.

If John Cena doing his apology in mandarin didn't get your attention...IDK what will...I think they will take over Taiwan after the Olympics...they got Hong Kong during the pandemic while the rest of the world was fighting over how many shots to get. Look into the book the China Dream...Its all out there if you care to pay attention.

There are 1000's of people dying and going to Hell every day. Most people in the world today are "lost" and have no idea of their NEED of a saviour. What are you willing to do to help change that? That's what really matters. Our lives here are just a pittance in relation to where we spend eternity.

Just watched the apology now. Guess I'm 7 months behind.

7 months ago I was boxing up my entire life to move into a new house and finishing up our build. Guess I was distracted from the important things in life. 😀
