SOUTH CAROLINA RENEWAL

Applied online August 17, 2022. Approved for printing December 29, 134 days later. Received today, January 6, 2023, 142 days after I applied and 50 days after my card expired. That's lame.

Last time (2017) it took a couple of months but was well within the requested 90 day renewal window.

Ours are pretty fast especially since constitutional carry was legalized. I would say 30 days then you take it to the drivers license place and they give you a temp. You get the license in the mail soon after that. Good for 4 years.

Once I got my classes took I had to get fingerprinted and they mailed me my card. At renewal 8 years later I just paid for a lifetime. No more nonsense

Sheriff sends out a notice that your permit is due to expire. Sends a renewal form to fill out and bring to sheriffs office. At the office your picture is taken, in a minute or so the clerk hands you the new concealed carry permit, charge is $20 for 5 years. Couldn't be any easier.

Like $400 for class and initial in CA and like $200 for renewal, but at least I live in a very 2a friendly county. My initial appointment was over a year out but they got me in in a couple months and then like a two month wait after taking class and submitting all paperwork for approval. Only good for two years.

Easier is filling it out online, for free. But in our state it sure isn't faster! 😁
