Compound vs crossbow

So I'm curious, when someone shoots an animal at 100 yards with a compound it's hunting and skill but some shoots an animal with a crossbow at 100 yards it's cheating?
Who said its hunting and skill to shoot an animal at 100 with a bow? You are the only one saying that. I would call it a very unethical shot, even under perfect conditions. I dont know a single person who has ever killed anything anywhere close to that distance with a bow. Im sure it happens rarely, and those people also probably are the first to call themselves an "influencer". Exactly the type of people that are a disease in the hunting world

I live in WY and despise able bodied individuals using crossbows during archery season. I see more and more people using them. I agree 100% with what mtnguide posted. Bow Hunters of Wyoming would like to see it removed from the archery season. I have no problem with them being used by disabled individuals and especially seniors but they should have to provide medical proof from a physician yearly to be able to hunt with it. The WYOA and the Game & Fish don’t want it removed imo for one reason money and outfitters more clients get booked in archery season. I bring it up every year but it’s on deaf ears.

Have compound bows advanced technology over the years yes, but not like crossbows. I can take any able body person and in 30 minutes have them shooting quarter size groups at 50yds. The learning curve is very short with them imo.

I’m 65 and still hunt with a vertical bow.

yes - give me a cross bow that is sighted in for 100 yards and I can make the shot off a tripod without practice. The list of people alive who can kill animals at 100 yards with a compound bow is pretty short!

Now compare the difference to drawing your bow with an alert animal inside 20 yards vs turning the safety off.
