The BC of Hammer Hunters is low. At 5k DA, the 6.5cm/130gr TMK load I am using is 2,740fps MV, and hits 1,800fps at 685 yards.

To add a data point, I'm shooting the 130 TMK out of a 16 inch suppressed 6.5 Creedmoor at 2656 fps (that's an average over 30 shots) at a DA of about 300 and that gets me to 580 for 1800 fps. That load in the mountains would get me past 600 yards per Applied Ballistics. I also have a 20 inch 6.5 Creedmoor that is shooting the same load at about 2760 so similar numbers as @Formidilosus.

Another data point for this, my 20” Tikka CTR is sending my 130 TMK reloads at approximately 2,730 FPS based on truing the velocity at 600 yards. These reloads are 43.5 grains of H4350 with magnum SRP’s in Starline brass. At a DA of 5000 ft I hit 1800 FPS at 690 yards.

Anyone have an idea of how fast one could push that 130 our of that 6.5? I just don't see how you get the MEV out of the 6.5 for the 130 TMK @ 600+. I must be missing something. I am pushing a 124 Hammer @ 2945, if I say I can push the 130 @ 2900, then it seems I would hit the MEV of 1900 fps (I think that is what it is), ar just about 600y. Can someone correct what I am missing?

I killed an elk at 571 yards with the 130tmk started at 2770fps from a 20" 6.5cm, impact was ~1900fps, close to 0 DA. That was book max Varget.

My current 6.5cm barrel is a 24" and shoots the 130tmk 2910fps with book max load of H4350. At 5k DA it hits 1800fps at 840 yards.

I have loaded the 124 hammer in four 6.5s for buddies. That bullet waterlines with a .205-.210ish G7 BC in all of them when trued at distance. The TMK is ~.273 G7 BC.

Correct, Density Altitude. DA=0 was near sea level.
