Colt Light Rifle with full Melvin Forbes conversion. New 26" Douglas barrel, new Nula/Forbes stock and Timney trigger. Comes with 1" scope rings. Magnificent lightweight Elk rifle. Perfect condition. I shot 9 rounds. LOP is 13.25". The rifle weighs 7.36 lbs as is. The Swarovski is 16 oz. The mounts I estimate at 3 oz. That leaves the rifle at 6.2 lbs. Asking $2260 TYD Conus

Melvin Forbes sold his company Ultra Light Arms (ULA) to Colt in 1999. The Colt Light rifle uses a production copy of the Forbes designed action with a colt barrel and a cheap synthetic copy of the Forbes designed stock. They shot well but the venture did not succeed. Melvin Forbes restarted his company as New Ultra Light Arms (NULA). He liked the Colt action just fine and offered his services to convert the Colts and later Forbes rifles with a Douglas barrel as used by NULA and the wonderful hand made Forbes carbon kevlar stock. Plus he added a timney trigger, tuned the action if needed and fully bedded the action and barrel just like a NULA. He usually worked on and tested them himself. The result is a faithful reproduction of a NULA that says Colt on the side. The Barrett Fieldcraft is a copy of the Forbes rifle as well.
