This fall will be my first time hunting and this was my first draw. I am excited and apprehensive in a way because drawing an archery Buck vs OTC elk will substantially change how I am going to plan this summer.

Colorado results take FOREVER! I've got low odds on everything I applied for, so I don't expect to draw anything, but there's always a chance.

Applied for everything will draw 50% of my tags, May have to return them depending on the draw and how my clients draw out

Put in for a second and third choice tag, which will get turned back in as I was successful in WY.

Good luck to whoever gets my tags in the secondary draw! 👍😎

With this year's new draw notification 'thingy' - it looks like Credit Cards wont be hit until after June 6 since the CPW will email successful applicants first, then applicants have until Midnight June 6 to surrender the tag if they wish.

I have three months until hunting season, so it doesn't really matter for me when I find out what tags I get.........I'll have tags regardless. September is the only date that matters.

Yeah, I think it was similar last year. When I drew my deer tag last year I had so many days to pay for it. I sure hope I draw my Unit 40 Muzzy elk tag as I'm working on plan B already.

Oh come on, have some fun in the mean time. Draw week is like Christmas, even when I know I'll be getting unsuccessful emails!

What’s the difference between this year and last? Last year you either returned tag and kept your points or got a refund. Is it different this year? Keep points and get a refund? Do you get a point for 2022?

Predraw level. Sounds like you don’t get your point. So this basically only helps non-residents. As a resident 40-50 bucks for the tag isn’t a big deal. For a non-resident that fee is 10x so that makes a big difference. I hope all NR are sending fruit cakes to CPW every Christmas. Man, the CPW loves them some non residents!

If you can decipher this, you’re guess is as good as mine!

Well, that’s not so bad. Basically if you draw and don’t want it you end up with the points you started with when you put in for the draw.
And if you don’t pay by the 17th you lose your tag and any points for that species.
Maybe it’ll actually hold some folks accountable. But most of these forfeited tags will got to youth in the 2nd draw.
