We are planning on going to Colorado this fall for DIY OTC archery elk. My question is, when I purchase a tag do I have to stay in that one unit or can I go to any OTC units? I have seen this worded both ways. We aren't sure where we are going yet so that's why im asking. Thanks

Tim

OTC archery cow or either sex license is good for any OTC unit minus a few exceptions. The regs book is online through parks and wildlife for complete details. I usually will hunt 2-3 units in a season just depending on action/scouting/weather etc. hope that helps

Just make sure if you have a "cow only" tag that you're in the correct units. There are a bunch of the units in SW Colorado that are no longer open with a cow only tag. Check the regs.

Hilarious. I've spent hours looking at every nook and cranny of a unit thinking that was the only unit I would be allowed to hunt. If I'm reading this right..... my otc tag wont even have a unit listed on it?

You are correct.

Now I am wondering how many read the brochure you can pick up at any license retailer? Of all the states I have hunted Colorado regs are one of the easiest to read. No reason to not read them.

Your first clue was when you buy the OTC tag they never ask what unit you're going to hunt.
