I have looked through all the forums and haven't found much information or feedback on this unit for private property. Anyone have any stories in this unit? Thanks

Here's whacha do. Head on up the road from the interstate, take yer first left. Drive till you see the big HL ranch. Knock on the door and they'll give you permissions to go wherever you'd like. Super nice folks.

Haha that last post was gold. Truth is majority of the unit is locked up. Even though there is some public, the maps show roads that go places where there are actually locked gates. So majority of the people hunt the low country which is steep, thick, and crowded. Its produces decent bulls and below average deer mostly. The lack of water pushes all the game onto the oil and gas companies properties which they never or rarely hunt. Hope that helps!

Yeah I doubt the HL will allow that. Especially from what I have heard about them. Anyone ever hear of the oil companies allowing anyone to hunt their land?
Some good public land NW of Dubuque just looks tricky for access which a few mile hike never hurt anyone. Thanks for the input
