Colorado preference points

I'm a bit confused, I just got my big game book from the State of Colorado.

I was planning on buying a point this year and next and trying to draw on the 3rd year. Reading the book on pg. 12 it says a point is $40 but does not specify resident/non-resident.

Then on pg. 32 it says a non resident point is $469.

So what is a point going to cost me as a non resident? I'm a bit confused as to how this works.

Thanks in advance!

You have to apply for a point or a tag and pay the license fee($469) plus habitat stamp fee($10). If you do not draw they will send your money back minus the application fee($3), PP fee($40) and Habitat stamp fee($10) so it will cost you $53 in the end.

You will have to shell out the money for a cow elk tag ($469), but will be refunded all but $40 fee (unless you had a CO fishing license the year before), $3 application fee, and you must also buy the $10 habitat stamp. So in the end it will cost you $53, but you will have to put up $479 until the draw at which point you will be refunded $426.

Ok, thanks. I'm assuming that if I wanted to do a combo hunt that it's the same deal for the other tag as well?

If you buy a hunting or fishing license the season before all your PP fees are waived as well, so Elk would only cost you $13
