I'm going to change things up next year and hunt a new spot. I have 5 or 6 points now and was curious if anyone may have any history with similar points and using an outfitter. Yes I know I could purchase go hunt but I'm not interested in getting that for one hunt specifically unless I have to. Thanks for any recommendations. I would also like to stay on public, I'm not into ranch hunting.

Try Garvey Brothers in Nucla CO. Gotta ask, have you ever hunted on private ground vs public ? I quit hunting public years ago because of a number of reasons. I am a native of Colorado with 32 elk taken. Are you looking for a trophy or just a good experience with a high rate of success ?

2nd @oldman. never elk hunted with Garvey Bros. in nucla but went with a friend on the a lion hunt ( lion in profile picture). They are TOP NOTCH, Dustin & Heather are amazing. But I don't think 5-6 points will get you a tag in their unit unless you want to buy landowner permit through them. When we were their we saw a ton of absolute giant ELK !

I'm not opposed to hunting ranches just personally prefer public land hunting. Thanks for your help I will look into them.

You might have a shot at unit 49 with 6. Probably take 6-7 this year. Not sure who outfits in there. Your kinda in that no man's land with points right now for drawing public land tags.
