Currently have points in Colorado and wondering if I applied to a limited unit as a first choice and an old OTC unit as my second choice and do not draw my first choice would I lose or retain my points?

You would retain plus gain 1 point in any scenario where you do not draw your first choice OR put in for 9999999 code as first choice.

PPs are only used (or gained) on the 1st Choice.
Either a Hunt Code or Pref Point code

You would retain plus gain 1 point in any scenario where you do not draw your first choice OR put in for 9999999 code as first choice. Doing the latter does not allow you eligibility for 2nd choice or below.

No, second choice will not use your preference points…. That change will go into effect in 2028

Its incorrect. You can choose a preference point as first choice and still obtain a second choice tag without losing points. Nothing has changed or will change there until 2028.
