Colorado Mule Deer Units

Since moving to CO, my primary focus has been elk so I haven't been paying attention to decent mule deer units. As of today, I now have 3 points and I know of one decent unit but I do not want to dump points to draw that tag. Can you guy's point me to a couple decent units that I can put in for next year? I'm not looking for honey holes, just areas that offer a good chance of getting a buck. This would be for next years rifle season.

Hate to say it this way to you, but the way mule deer is this day and age and with all the lurkers on the internet, IMO you wont get that kind of info. Me personally if you got a couple points and have good deer in the area, why not dump the points? And hunt as many years as possible now being a resident.

I hear ya. Hunting the area I know is the plan. I was just thinking that with 3 points, it might be worth it to put in for a better unit.

Plenty of good units. Just as many bombers in 0-1 point units as there are in 3-5 point units if you go look for them. Many times the point differential is because of peoples perception of a unit. Feel me?

I have always been told that any unit along the continintal divide will be worth looking at.

If you are not trying to hold out for one of the max point units you need to just burn the points and hunt. Trust me. I have 5 points now after not drawing the last 2 years. I got to 3 points because I just kept buying a pont. Then I put in for a unit I had a good chance of drawing and didnt draw. This year put in for another unit I had 90% chance of drawing and didnt draw. Now I have 5 points and really not happy about it. My point is that if I would have just burned my 2 or 3 points on a 0-1 point unit I most likely would have had at least 2 hunts in the books and now I have none because I was trying to not waste points.
