Hey guys, just drove out from VA and spent 3 days in the Wemimuche 77/751 and didn't hear a peep or see an elk. Moved to Endlich Mesa area and moved up and down the mountains for 3 days, saw some semi fresh sign, but no noise and no elk. A local recommended we try Lange Canyon, but that turned into a Bataan death march through drainages and scrub brush all for really old tracks and really old droppings.
Tomorrow is our last day and we are in the Pagosa Springs area overnight. Can anyone please help with a potential hunt within a reasonable drive early tomorrow morning? I know handouts are a no no but we haven't even seen an elk from afar while glassing. Just a hint in the right direction would be amazing.
