Colorado GMU 38 Thoughts?

Good evening everyone! I was planning to hunt Unit 38 this September and wondered if anyone had thoughts/opinions on the area which they would be comfortable sharing? I've spent a good amount of time on the West end of 38 and hoped to combine the terrain features with anticipated pressure into what might be a successful hunt! Any discussion or advice would be appreciated. Good luck to all this year!

I’ve seen mule deer in every unit I’ve been.

There is elk in there. The amount of hikers in there though is insane!

Me too, but the access in this unit is difficult

I saw a monster bull in there right off the road on public land once, during muzzleloader season. Just looked through the timber at the right time and there he was.

I have hunted mule deer around Golden Gate a few times and it's TOUGH.

I really like this unit. It is physically demanding but choke full of bulls, not a lot over 360" but they are there.

Pick a drainage and hunt it hard. You will find something. The elk are pretty quiet, so bugling probably won't be answered to frequently.

The further you go the less people you will find.
