Colorado fall bear feed sources

Took my bear last year at 11k, buddies took 2 more at the same elevation a day earlier. Eating moths is what the biologists thought when I checked it in. None down in the berry or acorn patches yet, too hot. But I do see the most scat in the oak brush, and that scat is almost always full of rosehips and berries.

Haven't found the acorns on my side of the La Platas yet. Hopefully I can find a dense patch in the am.

The fall feeding pattern seems to not really have kicked in yet around here in terms of bears eating 20,000 calories a day. Maybe it was the late spring/ short summer. Plenty of acorns appear to me to be ripe, but must not be a full concentration of them yet.
