Colorado Elk GMU 18

Me and 4 other close friends all have tags either sex, 4th season rifle. Between all of us we have 10 different scouting trips throughout 18 from the far west side to the Far East and even SE spanning the last 2 months.

I’ve been in touch with numerous hunters who had archery and S1 rifle tags in 18.

We learned a lot.... saw a nice herd of elk at the gate of RMNP - We did not see a single elk in 18. Hunted hard for 4 days - lows were 0 degrees highs were 32 (some days). It was brutal.

how far back did you go? were you camping or just day hiking? how many hunters did you cross? did any of you get a chance to put anything on the ground?
