Hi all-
Here are a few pics of the buck I shot in Colorado this year.
I shot this buck on Sunday, the last day of 3rd season, at just under 200 yards. Turns out I saw him earlier in the hunt but at that time I was pursuing a bigger deer. On the last day while approaching a knob to glass I bumped him and some does. All I could see was good backs, that in-line, and a big body running through the oakbrush. So I shot and drilled him when he stopped in a small clearing.
Over the 10 days I was there I saw two bigger bucks but just couldn’t get a shot. Third season has its advantages but as the deer shuffle towards the winter range the odds of relocating a buck can be difficult. Plus private land is more in play. Looking back I burned 3 full days hunting a big buck (around 10,500 ft) that probably wasn’t there any longer.
I’ll post the age when I get the lab results back from Robby. Not the biggest frame, but man did he have a big body!
