Colorado archery sheep

Heading up for my archery sheep hunt here in Colorado tomorrow morning. Work/family obligations kept me home the first handful of days in the season. All my gear is dialed in and the fitness is good (I think!). I have five days this first stint, followed by 2 more days next weekend, followed by another 6-7 days towards the end of the season.

How did the first run go?

It was good! A little smoky a few days which hurt the glassing. I covered quite bit of ground, put eyes on a few rams, some goats (unfortunately) and quite a few elk. My legs and feet didn’t fail me and the gear/food plan was good. I could use a light spotting scope but I’m too cheap I have two spots picked out when I go up in 10 days. 3-4 days backpacked in for one spot and 3-4 in another. Hope to make it happen on the first leg of the trip trip though. Still working out the details for this weekends trip. I think it may be a glassing/camping trip with the kids.
