Ridge is from just a few miles down the road from me. "Local" kid. I am very high on him too. Everyone touts Tyler Kasak coming back from a round 1 loss to taking 3rd last year.....handing Ridge a Major Decision enroute.

But that was a pissed off and mentally checked out Ridge on the back side.

Lovett did look so solid vs Van Ness. Not sure my money goes on him for Finalist, but he's for sure right in there.
lol Bo Nickal was my neighbor for a few years growing up when he lived in NM

@desertdwellerdyl Since you're becoming a fan and intimately familiar with Bo....you need to go down his college history rabbit hole. I think Bo had 3 college losses.

In a recent interview (if you compete in BJJ or plan to, there will most likely be similar "mindset" cross pollination...the mental aspect is some of the neatest parts of the sport) Bo revealed some of the mindset and mental coaching he received from coach Cael Sanderson.

Bo lost in the NCAA finals his Freshman year (going from memory so don't quote me) to an Ohio State kid. Myles Martin. Bo was getting funky and got caught. Think he lost to Myles one other time at Big 10s. Fast forward 2 years I think.....he met the same guy in the finals again.

Said he was very nervous and anxious....way more so than normal. Having to face the same guy....in the Finals.....for the NCAA team title potentially.

Told his coach he was nervous. Coach told him "If I could pick anyone in the world to wrestle this match right now.....I'd pick you".

YouTube the match for the outcome.........

I'd love to see Ridge win it. Just don't see how he can get past Henson.

I thought Pinto would be better but looks like too much of a cut for him he was far better last year. The upper body stuff and hips haven't been there this year.

Taylor has been impressive. Especially for a NE kid. His conditioning has improved significantly from last year. I would like to see him more aggressive on his feet.

NU has had some really talented teams with Manning. They just can't get in the podium. They rarely wrestle to their seeds at Nationals. I can't really complain about the job Manning has done but it does get frustrating.

Yall see where Wyatt says DT ragdolls him in practice? I think if anyone can take the ok state program to the next level it’s DT! I live in Oklahoma and no one is sour about the DT hire, everyone knew it was time for John to move on and leaving on his own terms was the best possible outcome.

I heard him say that! I am excited for him. Ok St has been my second favorite team for a big. Really got turned on in the era of Picinnini, Collica, 'Ringer, Weigel, White. Lot of guys I am not a "fan" of. No real reason. Never a Chris Perry fan

But I am glad to see the Cowboys doing well. They look like they're having fun. And competing way better, harder and more focused.

I’m retired from the sport & don’t keep super close tabs on it anymore. It’s nice to actually have time to hunt after giving the sport most my time from elementary school through college. That being said, DT has got me keeping up with OK St again this year and I was excited to see him get the job. I’m hopeful he will settle in long term & doesn’t just make OSU a stepping stone. But with the salary Chad Richison is funding to keep him there I bet it’ll be hard to leave.

Also, I think most of Oklahoma is glad John Smith let Ferrari go & got the whole family out of this state.

Isn't Daton from Jenks, or Sand Springs? Close to Tulsa.....I feel bad for him in many ways. I say Kid...but he's 34 or so now....can never get it done. Think he needs to shit can his father in his corner. Try something new and different. Pull a Snyder/Dake and go somewhere else for a change of scenery.

RBY at OKRTC now. Not sure how that shakes out, even with him repping Mexico. And didn't Gilman drop an exhibition match to a Cuban on Sunday? Not sure what the weight was....both looked big. Like 65kg

Fix is from Sand Springs. He’s probably only 26 or so now. I’m friends with his older sister and don’t recall him being in highschool when we were. Athletes spending 6-8 years in college is about to be the new norm with the new Juco eligibility ruling.

I follow Kaid Brock. He was one of my favorite Cowboys. Slick and wrestled hard.....think hunting was a big part of his reasons for hanging it up, aside from injuries. He spanks some great Oklahoma WTs

Where do you guys watch all the duals and finals etc? Flow wrestling? Is it a yearly subscription? Pricey?

Started coaching our local club a few years ago and I'm pretty sucked back in now. Looking to watch more!

Kaid & I grew up wrestling with & against each other. Great dude & great family. He airs out these Oklahoma whitetails and he’s hard on the turkeys too 😂
