Cold Weather Layering for a Floridian

hey norm!
i recently took my friend from florida ice fishing this past season in northeastern ontario. one thing i learned from watching him freeze was get good warm boots and good gloves, if you're not hiking too far i reccomend baffin titans. by far the best bang for your buck for warm boots. without my spare set my friend wouldnt have made it. with warm hands and warm feet you'd be surprised how much you can put up with in between.
best of luck!

Honestly - if you are spending the trip in a blind, I would go with an IWOM, or an Artic Shield warmbag. Either of those will keep you warm and comfy without dropping a ton on gear that you'll likely never use again.
Great suggestion for the OP right here. I was going to suggest Feathered Friends pants and a jacket, but that puts him well over $1,000 for equipment he may never use again.

ok i will give you some hints get a backpack to change your base layers or socks if they are wet and have some extra layers fittable if you need to protect you from the cold. or remove some if too warm ... but i doubt for you it will happen lol

-20c is not that take lightly and do not hesitate to tell the guide/outfitter if you are cold ... the fun will be gone.

have fun getting the preparation but so far i can t think of winter yet lol ...
