I did not have much luck with the Danner Canadians. The first pair did this after two months of bear hunting. The replacements they sent me did the same thing plus the stitching came apart after a months use, and the third set they sent me were sold on ebay. Great warranty service though.....

That's amazing. I still have a pair of Danner super rain forrest's that I bought over 10 years ago! Ya the soles are almost slick and the leather is worn. Guess what? Still waterproof! That sucks that you didn't have good luck with your' Danners. If I could have afforded another set, I would have and still plan to unless I find a better boot in the meantime.

That is because Danner was made in the USA back then. They are now manufactured in China. I bet that would be the difference between yours and his sets. I could be wrong though.

The boots I had were the Canadians, They were built in the USA then, and still are to this day.

Probably get laughed at by the hardcore crowd but I have had really good luck with the Cabelas Outfitter boots, I have the 11 tall 800 gram insulated ones. Looks like they have some that are even heavier. I don't spend a ton of time out in the super cold so they are a great happy medium for price, weight, warmth, traction and support. I do have a pair of orange super feet in them as well.

Added a little toe cap to mine when I was trying to save a pair of Lowa sheep hunters for another year, they are way warmer than the sheep hunters.
