I’m sure this has been discussed and if so point me in the right direction but does anyone have experience with the blacksmith family K cup press. I’ve got a moose hunt coming up and I’m looking hard at this thing

Pre-dawn coffee is a tolerable instant.
If we have time for good coffee we do pour-over.
This is our favorite.

Slightly heavy but compact.

Same. I use the Brcc or Starbucks ones and they are pretty great. When I worked in Alaska I used to bring a portable French press on the boat every am while heading down or up river and that was pretty amazing too but pretty cumbersome

You can get a big pack of Starbucks Via packets at Costco.

I’m a big fan of the Moka Express stove top espresso makers. Plus, you can cold over coals.

Had a Aeropress and it doesn’t make near enough coffee for what it is.
Jetboil with French press makes a larger and better cup.

Another vote for the aeropress, but I can see the bulk turning some off. Prismo (and now aero themsevles) sell a metal filter / no drip spout attachment that helps the brew (similar to inverted) and cuts down on chucking little paper filters.

I really like the plastic pour over idea, never tried packing it but that would be lighter weight and a good cup.

The teabag style, especially folgers, were a no-go for me. Weak cup and bad flavor.

Instant packs like the bustelo or similar were the easiest, just heat, pour, and stir, but I know some folks hate the instant.

If you're going with instant or bags, I'd suggest trying to find information on the caffeine content of each. That can vary wildly and how much of a bump I'm getting is always a concern. Helps to know what you're getting ahead of time.

AreoPress Go is the best I've found as some has already mentioned. Fiddle factor involved compared to instant, but worth it IMO.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person in the world who hates coffee.
You just need to buy some really expensive and bulky coffee making gear, haul it into the backcountry, and spend precious water making a cup. It’ll definitely be the best you’ve ever tasted…
