Coffee makers and grinders

Oh, yeah to answer a question, coffee is black, period. If you put something in it for flavoring and doing all that grinding, pressing, steaming, etc., why?

You might as well get you some old Sanka, pour in hot water then add your flavoring.

That's the same as people putting sugar in cornbread, you might as well eat cake.

We just switched to the Stanley french press this year to try and get away from plastics. It's a bit more work but no complaints. I need to buy a burr grinder at some point, but can't stomach the cost. Maybe I'll have a few coldies tonight and work up the courage....

I would say this makes 4 medium sized cups of coffee which works for my wife and I. I definitely drink less coffee now because of this, but I think that's probably healthy anyways. With the standard coffee pot, I'm drinking it if it's there regardless of whether or not I "need" it.

EDIT: I just bought the OXO burr grinder.... hah. They're on sale on Amazon right now. I also typically buy the "used" option. Every time I have done that for a consumer good it's just due to an "open box" condition that is actually unused. Can save a fair amount this way.
