CO Unit 34

Has anyone had any luck in Colorado unit 34 before or planning on hunting it this year??

Either nobody hunts this area or it is a great unit and nobody is speaking up. Both good in my eyes.

Just curious to see if you hunted this unit last year? I'm going to be hunting deer there this fall and from what I've heard it's very rugged country.

We decided to hold off for another year as we are still trying to figure out if this is the place we want to try out

Just personal opinon, Ide stay clear. I hunted it one time and one time only. The elk numbers are good but deer, nah. I grew up righ in that area, give it 3-5 yrs and it will be very good. Expect lots of pressure. It is rugged but easy access. Overall enjoy finding honel holes, there are still quite a few of them

We were thinking of going during the beginning of Archery season...do you think that is busy season? I had a fellow employee tell me he used to hunt that unit during one of the later rifle elk seasons and shot a few elk out of there, but still looking for a few more opinions on the unit. For a first time archery elk hunt do you think i could get into a few decent bulls if I am willing to put on a few miles?
