CO otc whitetail

So CO is selling unlimited either sex whitetail tags for the units that go from leadville down the Arkansas river thru canon city and pueblo. I would love to try and chase these critters. I dont have a clue where to go tho. Anybody have any info on where a guy could start?

Wow! They weren't selling those when I lived in Leadville 2007 - 2011. I do remember seeing a photo of a small whitetail buck in Buena Vista before we moved and it was not common back then. Apparently they've followed the Arkansas up and started multiplying. Good Luck!

Yeah Hobbes I think they just started selling them this year. I Live in Salida and see TONS of deer on a daily basis(counted 364 head in the fields below my house Sat.) but I haven't come across a whitetail yet. Ive heard of a few people seeing them but apparently they are very few and far between and that's the way CPW wants it. Still looking for a landowner down the river that might allow somebody on their land. Thanks
