Just a western slope FNG. Have been hunting a few new units the last couple years but grew up near the Unc on Wright’s Mesa (if you know the GMUs near here based on that info, I’d be willing to share some intel).
Drew a good buck tag (18 pts) for 3rd season. Hunted the unit to the north of it last year for muzzleloader bull. Very tough hunt and didn’t pan out exactly how I would’ve liked it to. Spent a lot of time near the “NPS” boundaries and found good bulls but bumped my target and couldn’t ever turn him up again. Probably pushing 360”, so a big boy.
Buck tag this year has me excited, hoping to get on some good ones. Plan to hang around the boundary to the north based on what I’ve seen/heard so far. Couple other spots that I know of that could hold a big buck too.
If anyone has some experience with a deer hunt south of DNM and wants to chat more, let me know! Willing to share any info that might help you out too.
