CO 82/86 archery

Looking to share some info preferably through PM on these units Sept hunt. Briefly, I live in NY, my buddy I'm hunting with lives in Denver. He spent this last weekend in that area on an overnight scouting trip and the area didnt look too promising to him. Saw some old sign, a few elk in private pastures. Wondering if it's worth it for him going down this weekend to scout a different area of the unit(s) or move on to one of our other 1,000 pins on OnX. I flew out there in April to meet up and do some scouting/turkey hunting. First time I've been to Colorado and it was friggin incredible, and I punched a my Turkey tag on a beautiful merriams. Bought the license mostly as my qualifying licence and it couldn't have worked out any better.

Anyway, if anyone wants to share some pointers, we have a few areas of interest pinned on maps.

This will be either sex otc tag for me. And a B cow tag for him.

We hunted from the Gibson creek trailhead and hiked towards the lake of the clouds. LOTS of people dog walking and fishing/camping. My buddy glassed a cow and calf a loooong ways off on another ridge late one evening. We only stayed 2 nights there then moved elsewhere. Wasn't super promising for us. Good luck.
