CO 3rd Rifle Thread

Don't have a tag (4th season for me), but here in SW Co the bucks are getting interested in the does. Yesterday afternoon, saw about 50 deer and at least 10 were bucks in my apple orchard. There was one 4x4 that was pretty nice (probably 150 to 160) and several 3x3 's. Good luck to everyone...hope we get some snow for 4th season.

Heading NW this weekend as well, freezer is still empty and I may only get this weekend so i'm also planning to drop the first legal deer i see. The weather will be interesting for sure, I was out in this same area 2nd rifle last year and the last half of 2nd was pretty snowed in but the high country looks like it might still be pretty accessible this weekend, depending on how the next few days go of course...

Southern Colorado for me. I've scouted twice and didn't even see a deer or a track the first time. The second time I changed locations and found a few tracks plus I saw one deer for about a half a second. The hardest thing was trying to find glassing areas, I finally found an area to glass but I got a hunch I will have neighbors, hopefully they will be my bird dogs.
I guess there will be a few cold days and nights to start off with and no snow for my area

I burned my points this year on a unit in the south central/western part of the state. My dad just spent a couple days driving the roads and said it was hot, but saw lots of does. Heading up the 11th and will hunt through the end of the season. Good luck to everyone!
