Elk numbers are definitely down this year and I haven’t seen anything but young bulls so far. Not impressed

Yea I’ve heard that. I’ll be heading over for next week to see what it’s all about. Hopefully the hunting pressure isn’t as bad as I think it will be! Good luck to ya

any update on the elk this year? Normally hunt the western part of the state but wanted to try something different this year. Thanks for the help.

Not to be a smart a** but won't you need a limited entry permit to hunt near the CMR? Point being, I don't think you can just go give it a try on a general tag.

CMR on the 410 side and 700 side of the breaks are both draw tags, not general tag so if you didn't put in for it and draw it then it's a no go!

I've got an archery permit for the north side, so I'm curious about this as well. But not enough to resurrect a 4yr old thread. Headed out Labor Day weekend for a scouting trip, hopefully it's not 105 degrees this year in September...
