Climbing stick aiders?

I'm using the Tethrd One climbing sticks and thought I'd try making some aiders to get more height per stick. Have any of you made any and if so what have you found works best?

The middle step is a separate piece of amsteel spliced in with a locking bremmel. I spliced the ends the same way to make eyelets for mounting to the aluminum stick with hardware. I put the 1/2" clear poly hose over the step area for better wear resistance. Plenty of Youtube videos on the subject.
