The timing of this thread was interesting, as these just came out of the tumbler before I posted. So I decided to snap a pic & attach.

You can see that there is still a bit of "gray" inside the case necks, and the outsides are plenty clean enough. That small batch of 50 is 4x fired, 1x annealed 6.5SAUM brass, for reference...

One thing to add about using walnut media. When used repeatedly, it can tend to get a bit "dusty" inside the bowl, even with the addition of Flitz polish before each cycle. To keep the amount of dust/dirt buildup at bay, I started throwing an old dryer sheet into the tumbler to catch it up. When the cycle is over, that old dryer sheet is chock full of fine debris & dirt, but the media itself remains in good enough condition to re-use over & over again. Been doing this for years and it works great!

I have also heard of the trick to toss a dryer sheet in the tumbler to catch up a lot of the dust and little particles. It works well to keep the dust down.
