I have a question I haven't found discussed anywhere. After extensive reading, I'd like to use CLR to clean a very stubborn carbon ring from my 6.5 PRC Seekins Element. I have a boreguide, but don't trust that none will get into the chamber/action. Why not just thoroughly flush with water after using CLR? What am I missing? Everyone just patches out the CLR with alcohol, etc... but it seems to me a thorough water flush would be safer? What's the reason for never using this method? Thanks
