Cleaning an MSR Sweet Water

Anyone have a good way to clean these in the field?

Mine started shooting water from the relief valve last night. I got it working ok again this morning. I shoved my Buff down in there and wiped it out then pumped some air. Seemed to get it back to about 80% but it still was bypassing a little.

Do you guys pack a brush or an extra filter?

Is there a better pump that's similar?

I really like the pump because I can just drop the suck tube into the smaller trickles where a bottle/Steri-Pen or tablets won't work.

Thanks! What are the Silt pre-filters they have? Do they replace the regular pre-filter?
