I have a Kifaru bag and cargo panel that has some very stubborn blood stains I have not been able to remove. Does anyone have any tricks on cleaning the Kifaru packs? Not sure if it matters but the pack is the foliage green color. Thanks.

From Kifaru Website: Washing: the agitation of machine washing can damage the UV coatings on outdoor fabrics. We recommend sponge bathing with Woolite (no bleach), and hanging to dry. Mildew - should you find mildew on your Shelter, simply remove spots with a bit of vinegar.

I wouldn't machine wash the shelters...but the packs aren't waterproof anyway... I machine wash mine after a bloody trip. Comes out as good as new.

Car wash

We soak ours in the bathtub with regular detergent, then drain the tub, rinse well and allow to hang until no longer drippy. Putting a box fan in the bathroom pointed at the wet pack will help it dry quicker.

Cold water removed blood better than hot....

Agreed on the cold water sentiments above! I turned the pack inside out to protect the webbing and buckles and used a front loader with no center agitator as well... but I still machine wash mine. These packs are built to carry 100 lbs for as many miles as the human back can stand, if it can't withstand a gentle cycle on a washing machine I don't trust it in the field for it's intended purposes lol.
