Clay Newcombs Front Quarter Shot on Meateater

Dont see what the issue is other than a whitetails ability to jump the string.

Anything direct through the boiler room is gunna mess shit up.

Had a slight frontal a week back, uphill, hit just inside the left shoulder, complete pass through behind the right at 62.

Devastating.

-would you take that exact shot? If so, would you go in front or behind the shoulder
-would you take that angled shot from a tree stand? Say 20-30 yards?
-does anyone who takes this shot debate within themselves in front or behind shoulder?
I would really hope no one would debate with them selfs on in front or behind the shoulder with a quarting towards shot.
If they have to even think about this they probably shouldn't be hunting.

He killed it cleanly. What is to judge? I have made that same shot successfully on several occasions. It wasn't a cape buffalo.

Now did you see where the exit was? What if that was the entrance? Everyone would be saying that's a perfect shot.
And they'd be right.
And also with that reversed shot, a couple inches forward and youd hit leg bone , also true, but he'd be praised for such wonderful shot selection.
