Oops I meant the link to the baiting article to the DIY group...I suppose it would be childish though

EDIT: just looked and I'm a member of that DIY group but someone already posted a link to the baiting article

We have big game units here in Oregon where I doubt you can get five miles from a drivable road. Before people go back five miles from a road, they should kill one within two miles, and pack it out. With a crew it is not too bad, but I am afraid if people kill elk back ten miles it would mostly be wasted unless they have pack animals. Even then it will not be easy. Derek Ricks has very bad advise!

Pretty sure this is same guy...
that was his attempt at "hunting smarter not harder" haha.... he has since learned if he packs 1000's of pounds of feed 20 miles into the backcountry, nobody will find it :ROFLMAO:

I don't know about Montana, but most places it's tough to get 20 miles from a road period.

when I was younger, and in pre GPS days I remember walking way into places, running into people like "WTH?" to later find I was super close to another road system, haha.

around here it's tough to get 5 miles from a road, but there is a lot of habitat in a mile of the coast going cross country, so "going deep" is relative.
