Does anyone spray their meat with citric acid?

I've used it in Alaska. But it rained every day and I figured that the meat could use all the help I could give it.
In elk country, it seems to be cooler and drier. And weight is more of a concern....

I have an empty (32oz?) spray bottle with about 2oz of citric acid powder stuffed into our 'kill kit'.

If it's cold and forecasted to stay that way, I'll remove it before we leave the car. I had the bottle, I had the citric acid, it cost nothing to have it with me except the weight, and I figure if I need it, I can just fill the bottle with excess drinking water. But, again, if the weather is going to be nice for meat packing, I'll leave it at the car.

I carry a tiny spray bottle and citric acid powder during Sept to help deal with flies and yellow jackets. If you're getting swarmed while skinning, it can be helpful to sprayt as you go. You can even spray it on the game bags to help keep them off of it. After September, its often not necessary, but you can still attract flies and Yellowjackets on a warm afternoon.
