On my 4th. All have shot 1/2 MOA or better with my handloads.

There are much nicer carbon barreled rifles out there with Proof barrels, but you are gonna pay 3X as much for them. I think Christensen offers a great value in the Ridgeline for folks wanting to move to Carbon barrels......their Mesas are also superior IMO to anything else costing the same.

I have seen mesas that have rusted bottom metals straight from the factory. I’ve seen a couple ridgelines that wont shoot MOA. Ridgeline and mesas used to come with Limbsaver pads but now they have their own cheaper pad. Overall I think at one time Christensen were really good but they have gotten to big for their own good.

Customer service conversations are always brief and lacking helpful information. One conversation in particular when asking for guidance on a brand new 28 Nosler ridgeline that wouldn’t chamber a round was “we’ll do our best.”
It is an impressive feat on CAs part to get their billet aluminum Mesa bottom metal to rust.

Only about 100 rounds through my steel barrel 308 mpr and it’s already looking to be my most accurate rifle. I thought something went wrong when I was shooting a 5 shot group with some accubonds and wasn’t seeing anything but the first hole then I saw the last hole but the middle 3 shots were just widening out the original hole. It didn’t seem to like my big oss suppressor so I didn’t force the issue but have an sico harvester evo in jail I’m gonna try on it some day.

With that clarified, can you tell me how you came to examine a Mesa follower spring fresh from the factory?
Gun smithing. Most of them are fine and shoot good/great but I've lost track of the number of issues I've seen.

No company is without it's issues but I've only seen 1 issue with a Tikka in the 200+ firearms I've seen. The holes on the receiver were drilled but not tapped. Overall significantly better quality control.

I work at a retail store and I've seen over 100+ Christensen's come thru the doors new and preowned. Most of them are fine and shoot good to great but I've lost track of the number of issues I've seen. Being the one that orders these firearms and then has to send them back to have them fixed makes me remember quality control issues.

Thank you. My first Mesa had to go back for repairs. They handled it well and fast. They told me it was a bad batch of springs that they had sourced. The repair order showed that they replaced the entire bolt with a new "upgraded" bolt. It shoots great. My second one was great out of the box. CA has had their growing pains, and I hope they have the bulk of their issues behind them.

Do you notice any play in the folding stock hinge? I have a tiny bit of play in mine, I’m debating whether to send it in. They said they’d look at it if I want. I can’t decide if I’m just being OCD or if I should actually have it fixed. Gun shoots fine as is.

No play in hinge on mine it locks up perfectly. I did have to call and have them send me 2 screws for the carbon forend that they didn’t put in at the factory and still sent me the wrong ones lol I’m going to ask them again for the correct ones before I try and find them myself. So I do understand some of the questions regarding the qc because you’d think they’d notice something like that before it left the factory.

It is my brother in laws rifle. He still has it and hunts with it. It is an "Ignorance is bliss" type situation.
Thats dumb - there is an accuracy guarantee and christensen will take care of it. I have had nothing but a great experience with CA’s customer service.

I’ve had several Christensen rifles. I’ve loved them all and will certainly own more. My current favorite is a Traverse 6.5 PRC dropped in a TFM stock. Also have a Ridgeline 300 PRC Mesa Precision stock. Both easily are sub 1/2 moa rifles.

I have to say. I recently just got my first CA rifle. 7mm-08 mesa. I was nervous after reading all that i read online about their quality control. But, due to being lefty with limited options and budget, i rolled the dice and lost.

I was hoping their QC issues were of the past. Not so. That thing grouped like a shotgun. 5 inch groups at 100 yards. Meanwhile, my $300 savage 110 that is 15 years old was grouping under MOA right next to it. Pretty sad.

I tore it apart and discovered what i believe to be a very sloppy bedding job. It is now being sent back in under warranty. Hard to understand why they cant add in a simple QC inspection before shipping. A blind man could see it. Hopefully their customer service lives up to reputation and i can get this $1500 rifle shooting better than my $300 rifle. Thought i should share.

It's a bummer to hear all these complaints, the Ridgeline FFT in 300 WSM with a 20" barrel looks really nice. I handled one and the action seemed smooth, I prefer a shorter bolt throw though. Wish more manufacturers would offer threaded short barrel magnums.

Happened to friend of mine, same model, he got the barrel swapped and back in like 2 weeks.

Their spot bedding does look like crap.

I have a MPR in 300WM w/ a carbon barrel, shoots 1/2 moa or so with 180 berger hybrids. I know several other people with CAs, no issues all were bought new. Just one brand I own however.

Here's my take, loud crowds who said Kimber's were crap, but maybe the were not? People cannot shoot light rifles very well. Now it's CAs are crap, are they though? Who knows but I don't hear anything else about any other brands. As an example Howa's or the cheaper Weatherbys not made by them all must be amazing. Statistically several people have bought other brands that do not shoot well but no war drums are beaten. I'm really starting to think people cannot shoot very well or have an agenda like bow brand loyalist
Probably because people have a bit higher standards/expectations when they buy a $2,000 rifle as opposed to a budget rifle.

I remounted a scope on a friends Ridgeline in 6.5CM that had been mounted at the retailer (Sloppy at best). I then sighted it in with the ammunition he had purchased (Winchester 129 grain). Adjusted after the first shot and then shot a .75 inch group. Final adjustment and then a three shot .50 inch group. Fell in love with the rifle and purchased a Ridgeline 6.5 PRC for myself. It shoots the 143 grain ELDX to .50 all day long. I head shot a Bobcat at 230 yards last week with it. BTW I also use those AWEFUL Leupold brand scopes that won’t hold zero. HaHa
Still killing what I shoot at!
