Hey all,
Lefty here.

For those that have experience with both do you think the Mesa FFT is worth a $200 premium over the standard Mesa?

Looking to pick up a 6.5 PRC.

The weight loss of the FFT is very noticeable however it is a slicker finish on it compared to the original Mesa. So really it’s up to preference. Stock can always be painted for grip but it’s hard to lighten it up as much as the FFT stock gives you. I went with the FFT and added texture

Depends on if the significant weight and barrel length difference is worth $200 to you. It is for me. I feel like $1200 for the fft is a bargain.

I'm a lefty, so the cheapest I can find a FFT is about $1550. If you know of a place that a lefty can pick one up for $1200, I'd greatly appreciate knowing.

Euro optic has the lefty Mesa fft for under $1400. I've been extremely pleased with my 6.5 prc fft, keep in mind the actual barrel is only 19" so you will be shooting about 100 fps faster then a hot creedmoor. All in all it's worth it to me as mine weighed 5.8 # naked and 7# even with a z5 3.5-18x44 on top. The regular Mesa will likely be nearly a pound heavier but you will pick up about a 100 fps because of the extra barrel length. Honestly I'm all for the short barrel as I'm going to be running a suppressor so total length will be similar.

Thanks Gander,
I'm not 'planning' on running it suppressed, but a shorter barrel just makes life easier in the blind and the woods.

Grab what you can now, CA has discontinued a lot of their sku’s not sure what’s on the drawing board for 2024 but seen the discontinued list and it’s long!!
