All I can tell you is CA describes the Mesa FFT barrel as "416R stainless steel with featherlight contour."
Someone on here may know for sure ...

what is the width of the barrel channel?

Sorry it's been sold. But the barrel channel is 1.28″, tapering to 1.15″
