What increments are you using. I’m just trying to figure out what’s going on.

In my experience as long as your using a bullet weight appropriate for your twist there’s a charge that will group regardless of jump. I’d pick a col. say the max your mag will cycle. Then load up 3-5 rounds in .3g increment from min to max(max pressure) shoot them slow and cold. Either groups at 100 or a ladder at 300-500yards. I’ve done this successfully on 20 rifle, factory and custom.

I loaded from 85 to 90.5, in .5 increments to find a ball park range. Now I am reducing the weight and fine tuning. But I ran out of bullets. So I ordered the AB from Nosler and more of the ELD-x. This is shooting1" moa, but it can do better.

The way I did it on my 28 is to load 1 round each from 78 to 80 grains in .2 increments. Shoot them at 500 yards and see where the node is. I also use black and red magic markers to color the bullets so I don't have to make as many trips down range.

On my target you can clearly see how 79.6 to 80 the bullets were all the same horizontally, therefore the velocity has to be the same. Any movement left or right is due to wind.

This is what works for me anyway.

So I went out today with my 87,87.5,88, 88.5, 90 loads today.
I shot as ManintheMaze (above post) did to see where the speed changes occurred.

Mine were somewhat noticeable, but not as much as his.

My best groups were with the 88 gr and the 90 gr.
But the 90 gr were still leaving a slight, very slight extractor mark on the case head. The 88.5 and below were not.
My 88 gr shot 2 in a .25 ' hole then another 2 in a .25" hole then a stupid flier.

As much as I would love to find a bullet or powder amount that would fix this, I am convincing myself it is me pulling on the shots.

Even with the above measurements I shot at a 1" MOA, even less without that flier.

My Nosler ABLR showed up today so now I will load up these and head back out to see if the results are repeatable.

I did load some up .015 off the lands at 88 gr powder. Good news is they didn't shoot any better than .117 off which is what my mag allows. So no gunsmith work needed. Just more practice and less flinching. I may set my trigger a little hotter, there is room.

So the Nosler ABLR sit further into the lands. My bullets are .045 off the lands with these, and still have Mag clearance.
Nosler reports that 90 gr is most accurate load for the H1000/210 ABLR set up. I have 88,88.5 and 90 worked up.

I don't know how Fierce sets up their rifles, but in a factory RUM, getting close to the lands and fitting the magazine is impossible. Forget the lands, load mag length and go. mtmuley

Yep, all of my loads are at max mag length. I was merely reporting that the Nosler ABLR fit further up into the lands than the Hornady eld-x.
The gun manufacturer (Fierce) used the ABLR bullets in their certificate data of .5 moa. Maybe they knew something.

Shot 3 powder loads with the new ablr 210 gr bullets today. I decided to use the Lead Sled, which I usually wont do, but wanted to see if it was me or something else.

Getting pretty decent .75" group. Every time I stack 2 together then get one that is .62" from those. I mean every time. Dang it, this could be a .25" barrel if that didn't happen. lol

I just loaded up 20 with the Noslers and 89 gr of H1000. Gonna see what my ES is and go from there.


On another note I took my RPR 6.5 out with factory loads and shot 10 rounds at 100 yards at a .65" MOA. The first 5 were .38". Then the barrel warmed I guess. These are sweet shooting rifles.
Even my Browning X bolt 300 WM was holding tight at .75" MOA at 100 yards

I needed something to do while the main rifle was cooling, so I took a few out and played with them.
