Ok. After much debate back and forth I have decided to go with Christensen Arms. I really want a 30-06 so that leaves the Ridgeline as my option but if I go .308 I'd go with the Mesa.

In this day of ammo age id buy the one I already have ammo for.
Or find ammo first then buy a rifle that caliber.

Much easier to find a rifle then ammo

I really don't think you are missing out on anything by going with a 308. That also puts you into a short action instead of a long action. The overall package will be more compact.

I agree completely with this I just got the Mesa in 6.5 prc and cant find ammo anywhere I would have stocked up if I knew I was getting it but the wife surprised me with it on christmas. Hopefully you'll have better luck finding ammo than I have, at this rate ill be lucky if I can get just enough to break in the barrel.

ammo first, rifle second.
Christensen makes NO accommodation or adjustment for L.O.P. which is why I did NOT choose that brand for my 6.5 PRC purchase about 6 months ago. Much happier with a stock that fits me. YRMV

I cant stand the tikka stock. I would be able to tolerate it with a bell and carlson.
I’d take the Tupperware tikka stock over the huge lump of bedding compound quarter way down the barrel channel. My Mesa stock had more flex, more barrel contact including a crack, that they just epoxied together. The tikka stock is also way more ergonomic.

None of my tikkas have the factory stock, lots of guys are replacing their CA stocks as well, as did I when I owned one. You end up spending custom rifle money for a crude action and a bunch of wasted time.

I traded a Mesa for a tikka. Best thing I did.
