Curious to hear if anyone has rebarrel a Christensen Ridgeline, and if so who did the rebarrel for you. I have a shooting acquaintance who is thinking of a caliber change and looking for a good direction to send him.

I do realize there are a number of good gunsmiths out there, but looking for recent real world feedback with these particular rifles. Thanks all!

I have done a handful of them, it’s a straightforward procedure as far as re barrel goes. I do remember that a couple of them had some thread locker that was pretty good stuff.

I guess I like a full safe. I’d rather keep the previous one and just buy a new one. Alas, that didn’t answer the question, why not contact Christensen and see if they will re-barrel for the new desired caliber

There's nothing special about the job. If a smith tells you otherwise, find another one.

Give your smith this and your rifle. Ask for this filled out and your old barrel back. Build sheet 001.jpg

Just curious, what’s his reasoning for wanting to rebarrel instead of selling and buying a new one?

I've swapped the barrel on my CA MPR a couple of times now and it is a simple procedure that you can do in your own kitchen, as I did, with minimal tools.
Why pay a smith to do something that you can do yourself?
