Christensen 30-06 pic rail mod question

Hey everyone,
I'm newer to rifle hunting (been bowhunting the west for close to 20 years). I've got a Christensen Ridgline 06 with a talley 20moa rail, seekins rings (low) and a NF NXS 2.5-10x42. With my cheek weld and eye relief, the front of the scope is just barely touching the very front of the pic rail. I know that anything touching the scope is a big no-no. I've got about 3/4 of an inch on the pic rail that I could cut off above the most forward screw. Is there any downside to modifying the pic rail this way? I was just going to use a dremmel and shave off the necessary amount to give the scope good clearance. My other options would be to put a higher ring on the scope but I dont really want to do that because its going to mess with everything I mentioned at the beginning.

Any insight into this would be tremendously helpful.

Generally bolt clearance starts to become an issue whe you get that low.

If that isn't an issue there is not really any reason to not shave it down other then looks.

I taped it off and spray painted it.

But id probably get a small brush and epoxy next time.
As usual I was in a huge hurry though.
