Choosing a frame

So I've been looking at either buying the new kifaru frame and bags or the x curve from SG. Recently SG had a video on Facebook talking about how to choose a frame. But I'm still confused. How do you know if a flat back or curved frame would work better? Pretty sure I have a curved back as if I stand against a wall, my lower back leaves a significant gap. But, I really don't have a butt. Is a curved frame not going to work for me? Are there other things to consider?

The way you tested it, with your back against the wall, is how Kifaru says to figure that out. I did it that way and i have a curved back. I trusted their test and mine fit perfect. Kifaru has great customer service and if you called them they will walk you through the whole process.

Everyone is different so every pack will fit different. Not being able to try on can be annoying. It really may be a matter of buying two different packs and returning one. I have owned 15 Kifarus, 3 Exos, 1 SG, and 1 MR. I now own a Seek Outside Revolution. I will say if you go with a Kifaru. Get aluminum stays!!! For a few extra ounces you can have a CUSTOM FIT which is worth it.

Call Kifaru, call SG, talk to them! Feedback on here is good too, but call them and tell them what you want to do. I really don't know much about SG, but I know Kifaru is coming out with some new stuff that sounds pretty cool!

I think the advice given is sound. The only thing I would add is, if possible, see if you can get a hold of some frames and try them out. I know that is basically impossible with the new Kifaru frame, but you might have some luck tracking down a SG, or a Duplex if you want to check them out. I was able to try out several frames over the course of a week with some help from friends, forum members, and attending a large hunting show. Trying them on made all of the difference. I think I tried on frames from Exo, SG, Kifaru, Seek Outside, Kuiu, and a few others, most with some weight. I also have a curved back. The X-curve just flat out fit me and their bag style matches my preferences. I wouldn't have known without getting a chance to put them on and ask questions. I will say the Kifaru Duplex was also awesome and a close runner-up.
