Choosing a 6.5 CM. 2k budget.

I think you will be very pleased, really don’t need to do anything to the rifle, you can swap the butt pad and add a vertical grip if you like but they are great as is, you can lighten the trigger spring a tad ( backing out the trigger spring retaining screw, till it touches the trigger retaining bolt) if you want but stick with the oem trigger spring
I’m thinking of dropping it into a KRG bravo stock. Is that a beginner thing or should I find a gun smith?

It’s generally a very nice rifle, but I’ll add that, imo, some form of riser is mandatory on these stocks for a decent cheek weld when using a scope.

If Tikka didn’t have such a low drop at the heel/comb on these Roughtech Superlites, I would use them with a Limbsaver butt pad being my only mod. And that’s not so much for cushion as it is for shape.

This is the easy button man! Seriously. I own 4 tikkas, all of them just flat out shoot. It’s nice when you don’t have to cut and thread, my 6.5cm tikka is maybe my favorite rifle 16” barrel, I own a 20” 6.5 that wears a suppressor and is a great rifle as well I do not feel like it is too long

Is your 16” 6.5CM not suppressed? Or are you just saying the 20” model is pretty gtg suppressed as well?

Just asking because I’m curious what it’s like shooting an unsuppressed 6.5 from a 16” barrel bolt gun, sound wise, compared to more standard barrel lengths. Like, does it cause herky-jerkies in trained shooters?

It is suppressed. I was just noting I think 20” is gtg either way, especially since it comes threaded from the factory

It’s a drop in, no gun smith needed. Never used a KRG but maybe keep it oem for a bit and see if it is something you really want to change?
I just figured it would cost me around $100 for a pic rail to attach a scope and for $200-300 more I can get a decent chassis.

Not following the pic rail relation or need to the stock, but sportsmatch or UM tikka rings directly attached to the existing action dovetail eliminates the need for a rail.

Installing KRG bravo is a matter unscrewing, rescrewing 3 screws. Easy. I'm a fan of Bravos but know that it's going to add a fair bit of weight to your rifle and require use of different magazines.
