Chillkoot Sleeping bag

Going from a slick bag and wanting something a little lighter and packable. Looking at the chillkoot but holy hell there is some sticker shock with that bag. Is it worth the price? Wondering what else could be out there with similar specs but at a better price?

You can go with western mountaineering sleeping bags and be in the same price range. They’re one of the top bag makers and that what I would go with personally. Especially one with wind blocker if that’s your thing.

I have a Marmot Helium 15 degree i got on sale for around 200$. With some creativity and a good 4 season pad, I've taken it to -5 a couple times and been comfortable.

I've been using WM and FF bags for years but thought I'd give the Chilkoot 15 a chance and am glad I did. I was skeptical at first that Stone Glacier's first sleeping bag could compete with the other two well established bag makers.

The bag has a tailored fit while still giving enough room for a side sleeper. I'm 6'1" 190 pounds and find the cut of the bag offers enough room to move around and sleep in a layer or two if needed but isn't cut so loose that its thermally inefficient to heat a lot of extra dead space. My favorite feature is the draft collar - its got a magnetic closure that's easy to find in the dark and is also elasticized so it stays close when you move around. I only use the draft collar when I'm pushing the lower limits of the bag but it does it's job very well at keeping out unwanted cold air.

Did you tell them your a Rokslide member? It’s a general discount for their website not specifically the bag for Rokslide members.

Wow, that really sucks. I was looking at this bag as a lower cost option then the WM but at this price I might as well just buy a WM. Bold move increasing the price.

Which WM bag would you hit that competes with the SG bag?

The versalite. 10 degree bag and 2 pounds. The alpenlite and ultralite are 20 degree bags and a few ounces under 2 lbs as well.
